The Minister on Petroleum and Energy had to cancel his trip to St. Petersburg in the last minute, because his passport had expired.

The audience at the Russian-Norwegian Oil and Gas conferance in St. Petersburg was surprised when the Norwegian Minister was re-placed with a step-in speaker.

According to the Minister’s calendar, posted on the Norwegian government’s portal, he should present Norway’s plans for oil- and gas activities in the north at a conferance in Russia’s second largest city.

Oil- and gas cooperation in the north is high up on the Norwegian-Russian cooperation agenda. Norway’s Statoil is together with French Total partners with Gazprom in Shtokman Development AG.
