According to the latest Finnish Labour Force Survey, the unemployment rate in the country now amounts to 9,3 percent. That is a 0,6 percent increase from the same period last year. Only the number of unemployed men increased.
In Sweden, the official unemployment rate is now 9,8 percent, the Labor Force Study from April shows. The number of unemployed people increased by 80,000 year-on-year. Of the new unemployed 54,000 are women, Statistics Sweden reports on its website.
Also in Norway, unemployment is on the increase. However, here the number of people without jobs is far lower than in the neighboring Nordic countries. According to Statistics Norway, unemployment now amounts to 3,5 percent of the work force (February 2010), which is an increase of 0,2 percentage points since November 2009.
