In a series of changes in the legislation to make better conditions for investors in natural resources projects in Russian Arctic, the lawmakers in the State Duma also says tax-cuts will include foreign companies.

BarentsObserver yesterday reported that the Duma committee for budget and taxes was asked by Shtokman shareholders to get good conditions for long-term investments in the Arctic.

Vice Speaker of the State Duma Valery Yazev now says such request is understandable, and will be followed with other changes also making it easier for foreign investors to join in for Russian Arctic projects.

- New gas deposits are enough to ensure gas supply to the domestic and foreign markets for 100 years. But geological and industrial exploration of these deposits requires special legislative measures first of all regarding taxation and custom procedures, says Valery Yazev interviewed by The Voice of Russia.
