Four governors will be dismissed in September, newspaper Nezavisimaya Gazeta reports. The Ministry of Regional Development has been commissioned with finding the regional leaders with the worst figures on unemployment and salary debts. That has made the governors engage in major falsification of economic figures, the newspaper writes. It is the regional businesses which is the main target of the governors. The business leaders are being told by the regional governments to present deflated unemployment and salary debts figures. That could make the situation in the respective region look better that in reality and thus also save the image of the regional leaders.
