Left Alliance MP Pertti Tiusanen, the deputy chair of the Parliamentary Environment Committee, has called for the immediate implementation of road fees for heavy traffic, Yle News reports. Mr. argues that Finland is one of few European countries without such a fee. Russia’s implantation of the fee should make Finland follow suit, he adds. Finland has said that it plans to respond to Russia’s new road haulage fee by implementing one of its own, possibly next year, the Finnish broadcaster writes.
