The show is a Christmas greeting to the population in the northernmost parts of the country, the Norwegian Armed Forces inform on their website.
The aircrafts will perform over a total of 16 towns in the region in the period between 11.15 and 12.40 am.
They will perform in the Nordland and Troms counties, but not in the northernmost and easternmost Finnmark county.
The Norwegian Air Force has a total of 57 U.S.-made F-16 aircrafts, six NASAMS surface-to-air missile system, 12 Sea King rescue helicopters, six P-3 Orion maritime surveillance aircrafts, six Hercules transport planes, six Lynx helicopters, 18 Bell helicopters and three DA-20 aircrafts.
In December 2008, the Norwegian government decided to replace the F-16 fighters with new U.S. Joint Strike Fighter jets.
