Russia launched new intercontinental missile

Russia has conducted its third successful launch of the new intercontinental ballistic missile RS-24 from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome.

Location

Russia conducted a test launch of its next-generation intercontinental nuclear missile last Wednesday, news agency Interfax reports.

The RS-24 ballistic missile was launched from a mobile launcher at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in Arkhangelsk Oblast, and struck its target at the Kura testing range on the Kamchatka peninsula. This was the third successful RS-24 launch in the last two years.

According to Wikipedia, the RS-24 missile is created in response to the missile shield that the United States wants to deploy in Europe. It can carry up to 10 independently targetable warheads.
