Conflicting interests are in abundance when it comes to the resource development of the Norwegian Sea. The dispute is not only between the nature preservers and industrial developers. There are also several conflicts between the different industries.
The Ministry of Environment has invited all industries and interests to a debate on the management plan for the Norwegian Sea this weekend. The Norwegian Sea is wide, unique and vulnerable. The question on the agenda is how to manage the area in harmony with the industries operating in the area.
The wind mills are in the way for the ship traffic, the ship traffic is annoying the fish trawlers, the oil industry has to take fish industry into consideration in their plans and the environmentalists want to preserve areas which all of the others want to exploit.
