“We are certainly looking forward to the resumption of negotiations … I see no reason why this should not happen before the end of this month,” Russian ambassador to the EU Vladimir Chizhov said yesterday, EUobserver.com reports. The EU on September 1 decided to halt talks with Russia following the country’s military intervention in Georgia. Negotiations will be resumed only when Russian soldiers have withdrawn from Georgia proper, EU announced. Mr. Chizhov now says that all Russian troops will return to previous positions before 10 October. -There should be no doubt about that, he underlined.
