Finnish company upgrades Murmansk road

Russian federal authorities have allocated 1,5 billion RUB for the upgrade of 150 km of road between the cities of Kandalaksha and Murmansk on the Kola Peninsula. A Finnish company has got the contract.

Location

It is the Finnish company Lemeikjanen which is to upgrade the road. The company will cooperate with the company Tekhnostroy from Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia, Murman.ru reports. More than half of the 537 km long road is in need of upgrade. Also the federal road leading towards the Finnish and Norwegian borders will this summer be upgraded. According to Murman.ru, 1,5 billion RUB of federal money will annually be allocated to road upgrades in Murmansk Oblast the next years.
