StatoilHydro wishes not to say anything about which amount of income they have lost on the latest problems. The Snøhvit LNG-plant at Melkøya has had a production stop for almost four weeks. On Sunday the energy company finally managed to start production again. According to NRK the lost income adds up to between 30 and 40 million EUR.
StatoilHydros head of information at the Snøhvit Project, Sverre Kojedal, says that it is always difficult to implement new systems like this LNG-plant in an Arctic climate. For StatoilHydro these problems are also useful, since they are learning new things about working under such conditions all the way.
