Project coordinator from the Norwegian Barents Secretariat, Mr. Daniel Fjærtoft, says to BarentsObserver Murmansk that regular shipping along the Northern Maritime Corridor will become an attractive alternative for shipping companies.
The “MS Tello”, which is owned by project partner Norlines, last week arrived in Murmansk with goods for the Reinertsen company. According to Mr. Fjærtoft, the vessel will soon be followed by a vessel from the Icelandic shipping company Eimship.
As BarentsObserver has previously reported, also container shipping will eventually be tested within the project.
