Five members of the Norwegian Storting visits Murmansk this week with the aim to learn more about how Russia and Norway can develop cross-border cooperation. The parliament members met with regional politicians, business interests and Norwegian companies that are active in Murmansk.

This is the second time this year that a high-ranking delegation from the Storting visits Murmansk. In March, the parliament’s Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence visited Murmansk after they first had meetings with federal officials in Moscow.

The Arctic delegation met with several Norwegian businesses in Murmansk, including Reintersen fabrication yard, DnB Monchebank and Ølen betong. The parliamentarians also got orientations from Rosatomflot, the operators of the Murmansk-based nuclear powered icebreaker fleet that assists in the booming traffic along the Northern Sea Route.
