airBaltic considers three new Barents routes

Direct flights to Riga from Bodø, Kirkenes and Lakselv might be a reality when airBaltic is expanding its route network to Norway.

Location

airBaltic is boosting services from its hub in Riga to several destinations in the Barents Region this spring as previously reported by BarentsObserver. Non-stop services from Riga to Tromsø, Umeå, Rovaniemi, Kuusamo and Oulu as well as Arkhangelsk are started or will start during spring and summer this year.

Information chief in airBaltic Janis Vanags says to Aftenposten the routes to Norway have been successful and the airliner is therefore considering opening more routes to Norway. The only route connecting Northern Norway with Riga today is from Tromsø, but according to Vanags is airBaltic now considering three new routes to Northern Norway; Kirkenes, Lakselv and Bodø.
