Discussing membership in Sozvezdye

The Norwegian Barents Secretariat is considering a membership in the Sozvezdeye Association in Arkhangelsk, which is the association of suppliers to the oil and gas industry in Arkhangelsk Area.

This week project manager Harald Sørensen of the StratMos NMC-Basis project met with the Sozvezdye Association in Arkhangelsk. Earlier this year The Norwegian Barents Secretariat became member of their sister organisation, Murmansshelf, which serve the Murmansk Region. The Barents Secretariat has for many years been member of the Norwegian corresponding organisation, Petro Arctic. Adviser at the Norwegian Barents Secretariat, Harald Sørensen, says that they consider to be a member of Sozvezdye. – It’s important to be in touch with the organisations working with transport and logistic questions in the High North. A membership in Sozvezdye would be interesting not only for the Norwegian Barents Secretariat, but also for the StratMos-NMC-BASIS project due to getting acsess to important arenas when future development is discussed, says Sørensen. Sørensen is together with businesses in the maritime industry from all over the High north this week attending the Arkhangelsk Maritime Partenariate. The main goal of this event is to gather private maritime companies from Russia and Northern European countries for (B2B) Business to Business meetings within the maritime industry and also focus on the regions strategic location for offshore oil and gas activities in the Barents Sea and further east.
