Gazprom boosts control over TGK-1

The TGK-1

The company Gazprom Energo Holding, a subsidiary of Gazprom, has increased its ownership stake in Northwest Russian energy generator TGK-1 to 51,78 percent.

Location

The strengthening of Gazprom’s control over the company comes after the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service in December 2009 approved the company’s request for a more than 50 percent stake. From before, the Gazprom Energo Holding owned 30 percent of the TGK-1, Oilru.com reports with reference to RBK.ru. Finnish energy company Fortum is owner of another 25,66 percent of the company. TGK-1 runs electricity generating units in Murmansk Oblast, the Republic of Karelia and Leningrad Oblast.
