A total of 15 Saami settlements in northern Sweden have applied the Swedish Saami Parliament for emergency funding following the catastrophically bad quality of this year’s winter pasture lands
The pasture lands have got covered by ice and the reindeers are unable to get food, newspaper Norrlänska Socialdemokraten reports. All the settlements are located in the northernmost county of Norrbotten.
