Construction works will keep the arrival hall at Murmansk airport closed until November.

Location

The arrival hall at Murmansk Airport will be reconstructed to be able to handle more passengers. Today the airport’s main building cannot take more than 200 passengers at the same time, GTRK Murman reports.

After the reconstruction, the arrival hall will be twice as big as it is today, Murmansk Airport’s web site reads.

Murmansk Airport is over 30 years old and has long been in need of serious modernization. In 2009 the landing strip was repaired for RUB 500 million and last year the taxing strip, ramp and light signaling system was repaired.

The landing strip has also been extended with 300 meters, to be able to handle planes of the Airbus class 319 and 320.
