The first three helicopters will enter service during the 3rd quarter of 2010 and will operate from Helsinki and Rovaniemi. The helicopters are supposed to cover the entire Finnish border to Russia.
The Finnish Border Guard’s new AW119Ke helicopters will be fitted with dedicated tactical equipment and certified to perform missions using Night Vision Goggles, according to a press note from the manufacturer Agusta Westland.
