The Russian Federation Council today approved former governor Vladimir Torlopov as the Komi Republic’s new representative in the chamber, Komiinform.ru reports. He replaces Mr. Igor Vasiliev as the republic’s senator.
Also the Republic of Karelia will get a new senator. As reported by Karelinform.ru, the region’s representative in the council Andrei Nelidov has been dismissed from his post. He will be replaced by Devletkhan Alikhanov, the website informs. The official appointment of Mr. Alikhanov is due 17 March.
