Meeting with the region’s local leaders, Dmitriyenko made clear that the municipalities will have to concentrate budget spending exclusively on salaries and essential social affairs. -We are talking about salaries, social payments, foodstuff [and] medication, the governor stressed. –All other spending, be it acquisition of furniture, cars or cosmetic repair works, will be prohibited, he added. Dmitriyenko in the meeting also highlighted that it had been his regional administration which had helped the municipalities get through the last year of crisis. However, this can not continue, he stressed. Allocations from the regional administration account for up to 90 percent of some of the municipal budgets, Murman.ru reports.
