- Norway needs more people with knowledge of the Russian language. Young people in Northern Norway, not only in areas close to the border, but in the whole region should learn the language and see the proximity to Russia as a big opportunity, Erna Solberg said at a conference in Kirkenes today.
Competence and research are among the most important areas for the future, Solberg said. Expertise and research on energy and marine resources and how to make these resources into business should be prioritized in Norway’s strategy for the High North, the opposition leader said.
