Severomorsk could face winter without heating

Severomorsk

The company providing heating to the closed military city of Severomorsk is on the verge of bankruptcy following debts from the Ministry of Defence. That could eventually leave the city without stable winter heating.

Location

As previously reported, the Ministry of Defence has failed to repay the local heating company a 2.3 million EUR debt. That now threatens the city with serious disruption of the heating season. Severomorsk houses the headquarters of Russia’s powerful Northern Fleet. It has about 70 thousand inhabitants.
