For the first time in ten years, the Norwegian Minister of Defense will visit her Russian colleague in Moscow.

Norway’s Minister of Defense Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen will be on an official visit to Russia in the period February 12-15. During her visit, she will have meetings with her Russian colleague Sergey Shoygu and the command of the Western Military District.

Issues for discussion with the Russian minister will be the opportunities and challenges in the High North, the bilateral defense cooperation between Norway and Russia, the relationship between NATO and Russia, and Afghanistan.

The visit also includes a reception ceremony with the Guards, wreath-laying on Poklonnaya Gora and a visit to a military unit, the ministry’s web site reads.
