From August 8-11 the magnificent landscapes of Nordland and Troms will host the first edition of this brand new stage race. A few weeks after the end of the Tour de France, the international cycling elite will be given the unique opportunity to enter the Arctic Circle and compete at the heart of the fjords on the Norwegian coastline.
The route for the Arctic Race of Norway 2013 was presented on Monday. The race starts in the town of Bodø with a second two-day stage in Lofoten, one of the jewels of the country. From one fishing port to another, the route will only rarely stray from the coast. The peloton continues its journey to Vesterålen and ends up in the town of Harstad.
Arctic Race of Norway is on the International Cycling Union’s calendar as part of the Europe Tour, the race’s web site reads.
