Church services and meetings were held all across Russia yesterday in commemoration of the 9th anniversary of the Kursk submarine disaster that claimed the lives of 118 seamen.
In Murmansk people gathered by the church “Our Saviour on the Water”, where the memorial for submarine personnel who have died in peace-time is placed. The sail (tower) from “Kursk” is now part of this monument, TV 21 reports.
As BarentsObserver reported, in March the sail was found rusting at a scrap metal ground in Murmansk.
