King of the forest knows no borders

Moose

Tracks leading from Russia across the border into Norway resulted in full alarm in a Norwegian border guard detachment on Sunday. The tracks turned out to be of a moose.

Location

Both the army and the police responded when a border guard patrol in Svanvik south of Kirkenes reported about tracks leading from Russia to Norway, Norwegian Broadcasting Cooperation reports. Because of heavy snowfall, determining what the tracks were took some time, and in the meantime all vehicles in the area were stopped and searched for possible border violators. Finally it was decided that the tracks were of a moose, one of the borderers who needs no passport or visa.
