The northern regions of Norway, Sweden and Finland have for several years cooperated in organizing contests for their young orienteers, but this was the first time Russia participated in the Barents Orienteering Contest.
Orienteering teams from Norway and Finland took part in the competition, TV Murman reports. The races were held outside Apatity, a town with 63.000 inhabitants located in the southern parts of the Kola Peninsula.
The contest received financial support from the Norwegian Barents Secretariat.
