Russia’s largest gas company Gazprom earns more money than ever and last year nearly made it to the psychological mark of one trillion rubles, or approximately €24.5 billion. This is 24 percent up from 2009, Vedomosti reports.
Gazprom had higher incomes than ExxonMobil and Chevron, Forbes writes.
The main part of the incomes - 61 percent - comes from sales of gas. Export to countries of the former Soviet Union accounted for the largest growth with 24 percent.
Incomes from non-core business increased most, showing that the gas concern is becoming more and more of a diversified energy holding. Electric and heat energy sales increased 50 percent, gas transportation increased 41 percent and refined oil and gas products 31 percent.
