Timber company gets pollution fine

Timber production company exceeded emission to Northern Dvina river in Arkhangelsk.


The Arkhangesk Solombala regional court satisfied the claim of the Arkhangelsk environmental prosecutor towards the Arkhangelsk Timber production company number 3 about the elimination of environmental law violation.

According to the court decision, the defendant must follow the law on the wastes emissions limitation and stop air and water pollution above the limited quantity, reports Dvinainform.

Besides, Arkhangelsk Timber production company number 3 accepted the prosecutor’s claim to pay a fine for the environmental law violation and overdrawing the limited emission quantity that they dumped into the Northern Dvina duct. But the fine is not that high, the company has paid 30,000 rubles (€770).
