More drinking in Finland

Finland is the Nordic country where people drink most alcohol a new study shows.

Finland has overtaken Denmark as the Nordic country with the highest per capita alcohol consumption, Yle News reports with reference to a survey by the National Institute for Welfare and Health Finns consume an average of more than ten litres of pure alcohol a year. Danish per capita consumption is 9,9 liters of pure alcohol. In Sweden the figure is eight liters per person. Consumption is lowest in Norway and Iceland, where citizens drink an average of six liters of alcohol a year. In Russia, meanwhile, the average consumption is about 15 liters of alcohol
