Ms. Tatiana Makarova says the oil company — one of the major producers in the oil-rich Timan-Pechora province — has significantly hampered the local population’s access to wild nature.

A local court in the regional Sosnogorsk municipality in May this year turned down the case from the fishing and hunting organisation. Ms. Makarova now appeals the verdict.

According to RIA Novosti and Newsru.com, the oil company has set up several new road blocks and checkpoints to areas popular for local berry and mushroom enthusiasts.
