For people in the least well-off positions, however, the price increase might amount to as much as 25 percent, the consulting company FBK believes, B-port.com reports. The trend could reverse the last years’ decrease in the number of poor in Russia. While 18,9 million Russians in 2007 were categorized as poor the number in 2008 might increase to 20 millions. The price increase on food stuff has been higher than on other products leaving poor people in an especially vulnerable position.
