VR, the Finnish railway group, says 13 charter trains arranged by Russian travel agencies will go to different parts of Finland during the Christmas and New Year’s season.
Charter trains will travel all the way north to Rovaniemi, Santa Claus’ hometown and the center of Finland’s rapidly developing winter tourism.
Rovaniemi is destination for trains both from Moscow and St. Petersburg. Other charter trains will go Moscow to Kuopio and from Petrozavodsk to Kuopio and Joensuu.
Another 15 extra Tolsoi-trains will go from Moscow to Helsinki in addition to the high-speed Allegro train daily traveling between St. Petersburg and Helsinki.
