Police raided ministry

Police in the Republic of Karelia yesterday raided the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. Law enforcement authorities suspect the ministry of having been engaged in economic crimes.

Several offices were searched, among them the accounts departments, the press service of the regional Interior Minstry informs. The Interior Ministry’s economic crimes department was the unit conducting the raid. The operation was made in connection with the investigation of the Agriculture and Fisheries Ministry’s suspected violation of competition regulations, reports.
