Black box from crashed transport plane found

Swedish military personnel have found one of the two black boxes from the Norwegian Hercules transport plane that crashed in Northern Sweden on March.

The mystery surrounding the Norwegian Hercules plane which crashed into Kebnekaise may be nearing a solution, as the Swedish Army’s ranger battalion has found the plane’s the voice recorder, Sveriges Radio reports.

The Hercules C-130J military transport plane with five Norwegian officers on board crashed straight into Sweden’s highest peak Kebnekaise during an exercise on March 15.

Why the plane crashed has so far been a mystery. 

Swedish military personnel, police and people from the Swedish Accident Investigation Authority have been searching for the black boxes for the last week. The work on the more than 2000 meters high mountain top is extremely hard and dangerous.

The voice recorder will be sent to Britain for analysis.
