The Russian state is selling shares in three northern shipping companies.

The Auction House of the Russian Federation has announced the starting prices of three federal share packages in the Murmansk Shipping Company, the Northern Shipping Company and the Northern River Shipping Company.

The starting price of the state’s 23.5% shares in Murmansk Shipping Company is 700 million rubles (app €15,9 million), while for the shares in the Northern Shipping Company (20%) and Northern River Shipping Company (31.32%) – are 200 million rubles (app €4,5 million) and 80 million rubles (app €1,8 million), respectively, according to Portnews.

The auction date has not been announced.

Murmansk Shipping Company provides the main percentage of cargo transportation under Russian flag in the Russian sector of the Arctic. The Northern Shipping Company is one of the largest in Northwest Russia. It specializes in shipping of products from the forestry complex in Arkhangelsk. The Northern River Shipping Company is the leading “river-sea” fleet operator in Northwest Russia. The company holds a dominant position for transportation of passengers on local and suburban routes within Arkhangelsk.
