The Finnish business delegation was attracted by the perspectives to cooperate with local companies participating in Arctic offshore oil and gas development projects, reports Dvinland.ru

It was especially highlighted at the meeting in the Regional Government that the idea is not just to sell Finnish equipment to local companies, but to start long-term joint projects and establish Russian production facilities on the basis of foreign technologies.

Last October, Finland’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen visited Arkhangelsk with a large delegation of Finnish business people.

The Minister then said there should be developed more cooperation and joint projects between Arkhangelsk region and Finland in the forestry sector and with the shipbuilding industry.
