From times to times news from Murmansk makes it to the headlines in Russian media. This time the story is of the more exotic sort. The circus crocodile Fedya was injured when the circus’ stout accountant fell on him in a car mishap.

Location

The two meter long crocodile was peacefully sleeping on the floor when the Soviet Circus’ tour minibus hit a bump in the road somewhere between Murmansk and Severomorsk. The circus’ 120 kilo heavy accountant, who was sitting in the passenger seat, was thrown out of her seat and onto the crocodile.

Both reportedly sustained shock and minor injuries. But the reptile apparently fared worse than the accountant. He vomited for three hours after the accidental full body slam, though a medical examination found he was clear of any internal injuries, Komsomolskaya Pravda reported.

Fedya had to skip a performance that had been scheduled for later in the evening, however. The accountant, whose name was withheld, was issued a formal reprimand for neglecting to wear a seat belt.

A quick Google search shows that this story has been published nearly 100 times in Russia during the last 24 hours.
